The best garden festival in the north of England returns to beautiful Holker Hall and Gardens in the Lake District in 2008. The Holker Garden Festival (30 May - 1 June) is a riot of plant and flower colour, distinctive local food and drink and inspiring art and crafts all held in the grounds of the home of Lord and Lady Cavendish.  Holker Hall is perfectly placed for vessels calling at the Port of Barrow as it is easliy reached in less than 45 minutes from the port with full and half day itinerary options available.
